After my trips around Bali and Indonesia it is always
a pleasure to return to this "heaven of peace". It is not
cheap, but surely worth every cent and with a service level comparable
to a 5-star-hotel, the price-performance ratio is excellent. They have
only 6 (six!) spacious and luxurious rooms, heavily decorated with tastefully
handcrafted Balinese interiors. I particularly like the traditional
Balinese king size beds uniquely decorated with woodcarving and original
"songket". All rooms have an own private terrace or even a
garden with an additional private entrance gate in Balinese style. It
is like having your own private villa in Bali! |

Artist: DULLAH (1919-1996; Surakarta,
Central Java) This realistic portrait is of an ideal Balinese maiden. Her name is the Sanskrit-Balinese word for "moon", which thus equates feminine beauty with the perfection of the full moon. She is dressed in a KAIN SONGKET (brocade) hip-cloth and lacey KEBAYA (long-sleeved blouse). She is picking up a frangipani flower, thus providing a setting that takes this painting beyond mere portraiture. At the top a pavilion, tree-trunk, and a shrine are visible. The original of the painting is displayed in the highly recommended
